Support charity work

Establish the coordination council for charity foundations:

The foundation spearheaded a direction in order to integrate the efforts of major charities through establishing the coordination council which includes three leading charitable organizations as follows: (King Khalid Charity Foundation, Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Charity Foundation and Alonoud Bint Abdulaziz Bin Musaed Bin Jalawi Al Saud Charity Foundation).

This council created a coordination alliance aims to integrate efforts, exchange views and expertise to achieve the qualitative and quantitative development of charitable work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The foundation has been adopted this suggestion due to its persuasion of the importance of charitable work to promote its role to achieve the sustainable development by mobilizing the potential of many authorities and carefully examining the needs and priorities of development.

Under the agreement signed by the members of the Council, a unified mechanism has been found to develop the possible means of practicing the activities of the members to achieve the agreed goals. There are a hundreds of charities in all regions of the Kingdom, which vary in size, capacity, sources of funding and activities, and all are working in the field of charitable activities and do it’s best to implement their programs, which may affect the programs’ quality and level of its achievements.

The three foundations empower the council including financial resources and participate to provide it with a particular percentages, and the Council will draw the public policies to develop the members’ business.

Establish Social Responsibility Team:

The Foundation has taken important steps to develop the charitable work system and build a partnership between the private sector and charitable foundations to achieve sustainable development.

In this regard, the Foundation has been adopted the idea of establishing a social responsibility team that includes representatives of many charities, commercial companies and chambers of commerce. It will be considers as an advisory body that contribute to establish a culture of social responsibility and conduct field studies about the community needs including vital services, sustainable development projects, and build bridges of communication between private sector institutions and the needs of community.

The team adopted a document that provide a clear framework that sets out the rules and regulations to develop social responsibility programs.

Two important programs were also presented and supported as follows: develop the capacity of charitable institutions and organization, organize and develop the voluntary work in the Kingdom, organize a workshop included different sectors to examine the mechanisms of developing local charitable work and its means, strengthen the channels of integration between its activities, and connect with charitable institutions in the Kingdom (over 400 foundations and charitable societies) and identify the views of its officials about the mechanisms of joint action.
